less is more

The project was about the construction of furniture objects, but the team developed the idea of redesign the interior of this apartment in Rome using traditional materials such as wood and iron. The furniture is made up of volumes and movable shelves, but it yearns to overcome its classical dimension so to become like a wall and constitute a setting within the apartment itself. The geometric space defined by these big furnishings, still in a minimalist design, is added with a tactile dimension: Its strength deriving from the natural characteristics of chosen materials. The transitions between different materials were designed to underline the different “force fields” within the furniture.
